Al Hughson started his playing journey at the age of six and began by learning in the strict world of classical guitar all the rules that a young musician should adhere to in order to become an accomplished player........... He spent the next few decades breaking every one of them.
By his late teens he was playing in heavy metal bands ( although at the time they were really more light alloy ) and experimenting with styles as diverse as punk and jazz fusion all in all a very varied path was trod.
On top of all this Al is profoundly left handed but plays right handed on the guitar,lute, mandolin etc everything else he plays left handed a rather obdurate approach.
By his early twenties he had played to large crowds at venues such as knebworth and tiny gatherings such as the bar staff of local pubs. playing to an audience of two has a rather sobering effect on the ego.
One other thing Al had done was some local session work and this was the bug that bit and is still biting today.
Nowadays Al is a composer and songwriter/performer but as he has the perfect looks for radio he prefers to carry on in the manner of a ghost, not self promoting visually his ego rather he prefers to let his music be the only thing people have to interact with.
So no matter what your personal taste you may find something you like here without having to bother about what the artists personal image is like because you will never know.
Have fun try a few tracks some are wild, some more on the tame side all have been created with different moods and palettes to express one musicians journey through life.
